Thomas Etholen Selfridge (1883-1908) served in the military and flew several missions. In his memory, the Selfridge Air National Guard Base was named after him. The Selfridge Military Air Museum is now open to the public. People can see the historical decommissioned aircrafts from history.
Interesting Little fact. .....before it was Selfridge it was my family's farm there are still pics across Macomb of the Lefevre farm , I just wish I could have seen it then in its undeveloped glory lol.
